The actress was in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 3 weeks, 4 months and 2 days" (4 months, three weeks and Two Days) which earned her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. The film also earned two additional awards: The Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. In addition, she appeared as a character in The Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca portrayed Yasim in BBC's five episode The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian film Boogie. Then she was Irma's German aunt in Fury that was released in 2014.
