In the magazine Vanity Fair from July 2003 the magazine featured her as one of the hot teenagers of the entire year. In 2004 Vega filmed two movies: Sleepover, and State's Evidence. She was a web-based bully in the Lifetime television film Odd Girl Out the following year. In 2006, she was a star in a different TV movie made for television, Walkout; and finished filming Remember the Daze, which premiered in theaters with a limited release in April 2007.
